4th of July Decorating

Give me a holiday and I am oh so happy to decorate.  Here's my version of the 4th of July.

The only thing I bought this year was the eagle sign in the last picture.  I got that at Joanne's for 50% off, bringing it to $8.00.  The flags I use year after year.  The truck I usually have on my patio.  The picture of the girl I have had for years.  She only comes out at this time of year, but I can't seem to part with her.  I hope this gives you some ideas.

Graduation Decoration

Two of my closest friend had graduates this year.  Most of the creative ideas came from them, but of course I was there to help.  Kassi's party was Friday night.  Here are some of the decorations.

Marcus's was the following evening.  We shared decorations, so a lot of them were the same, but looked very different.

This burlap canopy was my favorite decoration of the weekend.  They needed to create shade over the food and this was genius.  Love it.  I have lots of good ideas for my graduate next year.  I hope this gets your wheels turning.

Backyard Patio Cabinet

Last year while on a motorcycle ride to the Buttes, we came upon this little antique shop.  It was in the middle of nowhere.  At first, it seemed as if this gentlemen had nothing but a lot of junk, but it couldn't hurt to look around.  We wandered around the whole shop and not a treasure one, or one I needed.  I saw an opening that led to the back, so I wandered on out.  Oh my goodness gracious (OMGG), I struck gold.  I had been wanting some type of storage for the backyard, for beach towels, sunblock, toys etc.  You know it when you see it.  When it is perfect.  Here is this beloved piece.

Everything about it is perfect.  This size was perfect by a hair.  The color and patina are to die for, and the original pulls, random numbers, and single white drawer are what make it unique and special.  Can you tell I love it?  The best part, it only cost $200.00.  This might be my best bargain yet.

Oh how I love prom.

In the past month I have busy being creative with corsages and boutonnieres.   My friends daughter was attending Sr. Prom and wanted a little something different, not something everyone else had.  When she and her friend had their dresses hemmed, I asked them to keep the scraps. This one was easy.  I didn't have to think too hard.

This one, on the other hand, I had to do a couple of times.  She wanted a seashell theme.  I think this is really cool.  It is different, but not too out there.

I was happy.  They were happy.  It was all good.

For more information, look at my old post.  I give detailed instructions.

Summer Mantel

I did my Summer decorating a month or so ago, but I was having trouble recovering pictures..  So, sorry I haven't posted in a while.  These are just some of my favorite bits.

My love for shells and anything related to the sea, make it easy for Summer decorating.  I found the Pussy Willow orbs at Marshalls.  I love the bright green color, and, an added bonus, I can't kill them.
